Why We Like The Moab 3 Mid Waterproof Hiking Boot
The skies are bright blue and there isn't a cloud in sight, but we're no fools—we know that can change. That's why we take off into the unknown wearing the Moab 3 Mid Waterproof Hiking Boot. Its waterproof membrane lets moisture escape so we feel fresh when the weather is dry yet seals out the rain when that nomad cloud starts dumping water in our direction.

Wore this to Iceland
It is extremely comfortable and truly waterproof. I took it on my trip to Iceland, where it faced snow, waterfalls, and sand, and it held up perfectly. It's lightweight, making it easy to wear all day, and feels as comfortable as wearing my favorite sneakers.

No breaking in needed
Comfortable from the first step, I ordered these for an upcoming trip, but thought I would need to break these in. Not at all. I put these on first thing in the morning, went to a meeting, then we did a 2 mile hike, followed by a trip to the garden center and a few hours of yardwork. Perfect all day long. I own many pairs of Merrell's this pair is the best yet!

Ankle Support and Comfort
Excellent. These are the 3rd pair of Merrells I have owned and they are amazing. If you are looking for ankle support and comfort, buy these shoes.

Marvelous Merrill
Super comfortable and supportive. Handles rocks on the trail well. First worn in Joshua Tree National Park--fantastic! True to size, my foot requires a slightly wider shoe, 8 1/2 was perfect.

Great
I broke my shoes in with 2 2-hour long hikes around Frick Park in Pittsburgh, then hiked for at least 5 hours a day at Zion and Bryce Canyon -- fit perfect, no pain ever. Went through mud and a stream, and my feet stayed perfectly dry. My first experience with hiking boots (I had only ever used sneakers before). Perfect!

Great for Hiking
I love them from a moment I put them on. Got 7.5, my regular shoes size is 7. I am traveling in Arizona and did not have solid hiking shoes with me. Once I put them on I knew that is it. 😀

Lightweight, comfortable support
I replaced my waterproof Moab 2's with this Waterproof Moab 3. I normally wear a 10 but have found that in this model I need a 10.5. They feel so solid and my feet feel really supported and protected while at the same time being lightweight. They have been comfortable from the get-go, no break-in period. Sometimes I do wish I had gotten the ankle boots because things seem to still get between the shoe and the sock even with the mid model. Highly recommended!

Not waterproof
I bought these 6 months ago and they are no longer waterproof. I work on a golf course and my feet get soaked when walking through dew in the mornings. It's not like I'm wading through puddles or anything. I had a pair a few years ago that were truly waterproof. I dont know what happened or changed?

Nice boots except for one thing
This is my second pair of this style of shoe from Merrell. Just as with the first pair, there is a breaking in period with the right shoe. It's probably the supination on the right side, but the top of the shoe rubs on my ankle bone and it hurts badly. I have to repeatedly adjust the shoelaces to get it right so that this doesn't happen. I would recommend a more flexible shoe or one that isn't a high top to anyone who wants to do a lot of hiking right away, but they have this type of problem with boots. Otherwise, I like these shoes in every way.
