Great fast workout joy ride tires

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Size Bought:

After trying many other tires over the years these are my favs for my weekly trail workouts...typically I can keep these at a average of 17mph average speeds on a semi rough paved trail in Sacramento CA area on 2020 trek domane slr7 etap for around 20 miles with a good amount of effort...others I have tried are great tires but these seem to be the best balance of weight, comfort(32cm at sram calc psi tubless muc off... sealant 190 rider), and reliablity...you can probably find something a little faster but it will probably be a race day tire that will sacrafice relialbility etc...for years I road gatorskin hardshells to ride to work and they seem to be really tough but you will sacrafice weight, harshness, and resistance for probably about the ultimate durability

Fast tires but tough to mount tubeless.

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

These tires are very fast and I haven't had a puncture yet. But they are very tough to mount as tubeless. They are extremely tight on the wheel and tend to draw into the center of the wheel groove and away from the rim. So unless you have a way to inflate them quickly with a high-flow rate air line like a bike shop, you may have trouble getting them to expand out to the rim and create a seal when mounting tubeless. I eventually gave up and put Continental Conti-Tubes in them since that's what I'm more familiar with. They are excellent tires now.

Continental GP 5000 have never let me do

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I have been running Conti 5000 GPs for over 5 years. I find them to be durable, fast, and extremely comfortable. I have run both 25mm and 28mm. I am going to give the 30mm a try on my next set.

Easier to mount

Familiarity:

They roll quick and were way easier to set up than regular Conti gp's

Great tire!

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Easy to get on and off, can always pump it up with just a regular hand pump, no drama! Fast tire and rides really well. Love the traction cornering. I get at least 2,000 mi from a tire. I use orange seal, never have a puncture flat, over 20,000 miles flat-free on Continental tires and Orange Seal.

The TR Conti I've been waiting for

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I always liked the Continental family of clincher tires but they were late to the tubeless era. The 5000 S TR tire shows that they've caught up and the tire is now my go to choice. First, compared to other TR tires, the Conti's are relatively easy to put on and take off which is a huge advantage compared to other TR tires especially when you get a flat on the road. Second, I ride in NYC and I've gotten one flat after four months which is pretty good compared to the flats I was getting with Conti clincher tires. Third, the tire does lose a bit more pressure over 1-2 days vs. the Pirelli's I was using before. I don't know if that is due to an issue with my wheel, sealant or the tires.

6700 miles still going

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I’m kinda laughing at some of these negative reviews abouythe Conti GP 5000 S TR tires. I’ve been running the same tires for more than 6000 miles with one rear flat that sealed almost instantly (Stans), I ride a Tarmac and Princeton Wake 6560 wheels 32 mm tires at 60 PSI. My training weight is 183 lbs. My average ride is 210 watts over 50 miles on mostly fast rolling hills of NC and VA. I’ll never consider using a different tire EVER

The Ouch Tires

Usually, I love Continental tires. However, these are a bear to mount on your wheels! So hard that I sliced my hand open on these. Yup, wear gloves from now on. With that said, the bike shop had trouble mounting these as well. These tires run small. The 5000's will never ever be used again following this purchase.
