Why We Like The Bridger 65L Backpack
A favorite of ours for its no-frills construction, the Bridger 65L Backpack features a traditional backpacking bag design but adds more places to stow our gear and a breathable, sturdy frame and support. Adjusting and fine-tuning the yoke year after year brought Mystery Ranch to this current version where it is now more supportive and ventilated than ever so we can avoid the dampness and discomfort of long days hiking to far-out locations. The Bridger also has a dual access main compartment so we can easily grab items without having to dig through the whole thing. We like that the removable lid doubles as a waist pack for fun side missions on lengthy multi-night excursions.

Excellent pack.
Adjustable suspension makes so you are wearing it not carrying it.

Comfortable, tough, full of features
I love Mystery Ranch packs. I imagine this pack will last a long, long time. Took this on a very strenuous overnight hike (3300' elevation loss/gain over 4 miles of 'trail') and the way the pack distributed weight made it way more comfortable than I expected.

Most comfortable pack I've worn!
This thing is awesome! It has a tub of room, yet isn't bulky. The sleeping bag divider in the bottom helps keep everything situated. There are tons of tie off points and pockets. It handles weight very well. The dual chest clasps threw me off a little until I actually carried it but they won me over pretty quick. 10 out of 10. Highly recommend!

Miss my Osprey Atmos
Love how this bag carries weight and the full frontal access. Hate that it has been damaged twice already just at the airport. Sternum strap ripped the first time and now the waist strap. That's 2 for 2. Outside of the airport, I used this pack to get groceries so far. I'd just blame the airport but my osprey I bought used for a 3rd of this price lasted a dozen flights and heavy use while hitchhiking across Alaska, Mexico, Belize and Cuba didn't have a single rip or tear. Yes I know I can have the straps replaced and the bag repaired as needed but I'm not looking for a chore. I'm looking for dependability.

Comfortable ride
I bought this for a section hike on the AT this summer. I knew the pack was on the heavier side but I took a chance. My first time out with it I loaded it up with 35lbs and hiked for 10 miles. This pack was so comfortable I knew I made the right choice. The chest pouches are super handy. This by far is the best pack I have owned. I look forward to many more adventures with my Mystery Ranch pack.

Most comfortable pack, easy to get to everything
I’ve had this pack on multiple trips now, it is the most comfortable pack I’ve ever used and I’ve used a lot, it’s so easy to get to everything in the pack and there’s a fly zip that zips all the way down so you can get anywhere in your bag at any time.

Very comfortable backpack
I bought this a month ago to replace my old worn out backpack. The Bridger 65 is more comfortable than my old pack. Very nice to have two sternum straps on the yolk up front to lighten the load off my shoulders. Nice to have two way access to my gear at the top or on the side of the pack. One of the best choices of packs I have bought and I have tried on plenty before choosing this one.

This is a serious backpack
After several backpacking trips I can say it is my go to baby. With 65L I can pack everything I want and it carries weight comfortably. I would like a mesh pocket like the smaller versions but also it may comprised durability. I’ve tried other brands from ultralight to frameless, this is my go to back.

Versatile for your needs!
I bought this in spring time, finally moving away from my beloved external frame packs I had used since Boy Scouting days. Wanting to try something new and knowing Mystery Ranch has a great reputation, I settled on this bag. Not only can I confidently/ intelligently organize my gear and scale from a few days to multi week, there’s a stylin’ hip pack you can use from unclipping the top flap. Fabrics strong, mesh shoulder and waist pads are comfortable and adjustable, external straps still allow for attachments but you can fit quite a bit inside the bag and maintain a semblance of organization with internal pockets, an easy access panel at the bottom, and a full vertical zipper to open the full bag if needed. 10/10 recommend

How come the 65L doesn't come with the large traditional front mesh pocket like the smaller versions or just about any other pack (for quick excess)? Btw, the black 45L Bridger is the best looking of the bunch :-)

I am about 6’-1”- 215 lbs - if I am measuring correctly I have about a 40” waist and 25”torso - which lands me at an upper end of a large and a the lower end of the scale for an extra large frame - should I be an extra large frame for the Bridget 65 ??

Does anyone have experience using the Bridger with the DSLR Chest Rig? I’m wondering if the yoke will interfere with the chest rig’s setup.
