Why We Like The Fishpond Thunderhead 13L Sling
Journeys to the riverbed necessarily require the whole fishing kit, so we toss the Thunderhead Sling across the shoulders and head to the water with clean and compact storage. All the internal organization pockets make it easy for us to open up and grab what we need on the fly. We really like the tough, water-resistant fabric that brushes off the sharp stabbing of streamside rocks and brush.

My go-to bag when wading deep
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Love this sling bag when wading in waist deep waters or higher and when out in the rain. It is not bulky, nor heavy. The outside zippered pocket is not waterproof, so I keep anything that needs to be dry in plastic bags. I did purchase the compartment system for better organization of my gear. I only wish it was included already, especially for the price...hence the 4/5 stars.

Great pack, once you add some extras!
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Overall, this pack performs incredibly well. I feel that of all the waterproof fishing bags out there, Fishpond has the most durable, and the most secure zipper. The drawback is that it can be tough to open and close because the zipper works so well. You definitely have to pay attention and keep the zipper lubricated. The only actual downside is the internal storage or lack thereof. If you buy this pack, you will need to get the insert that Fishpond sells, or everything will loosely move around in the pack. Once you have this, it's a stellar pack and my choice for carrying everything you need for a day on the water.
