When the time came to redesign the ultra-popular ENVE XC rim, the carbon wizards in Ogden, Utah set about making it lighter, wider, and smoother. They shaved 50 grams from each rim, while making them 3mm wider (internal), and tuning them to provide a smoother-feeling ride. On top of that, ENVE did away with the bead hooks, because they found that they could make the rim stronger without losing anything to tire performance.
Each rim is made in Utah, and they’re then laced to DT Swiss 240 hubs, which are available with either 6-bolt or Centerlock brake mounts, and a standard freehub or an XD driver.
