Why We Like The SB130 C2 GX Eagle Mountain Bike
When we're unsure where the ride will take us, we hop on our SB130 knowing we can take on everything from 8-hour cross-country rides to black diamond downhill trails. This mid-travel 29er simply does everything well and might be our top choice if we could only own a single mountain bike.
As for travel, the SB130 gets 130mm in the rear and 150mm in the front. The bike uses Yeti's Switch Infinity suspension platform, which we've always regarded as one of the better-performing options on the market. It remains firm under pedaling efforts without losing sensitivity over bumps and drops. When it comes time to descend, the travel feels smooth and deep. The SB130 features long reach and wheelbase figures, paired up with a 65.5-degree head tube that feels confident at high speed, yet remains agile on slower speed trails.
Yeti offers two different levels with its carbon frames, with this bike utilizing the lower level C-series carbon. It's not a bad thing really, it just lets Yeti hit a lower price point and add the cost of a few hundred grams of weight. In fact, the ride quality is on par with the higher-grade TURQ frames, and the weight difference is very hard to distinguish while riding. Regardless, Yeti bikes feel light and snappy on the trail and they're certainly lighter than many of their competitors, as the brand is focused on crafting some of the world's best race bikes.
*Due to unprecedented demand in the global supply chain and the bike industry over the last 18 months, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be minor. If you have any questions, reach out to a Gearhead by chatting online or calling 1-888-276-7130.
