Why We Like The WANDRD FERNWEH 50L Backpack

The WANDRD FERNWEH 50L Backpack is as versatile as it is tough, which is very. This is the type of bag that can ski tour in the morning, haul cameras to a photo shoot in the afternoon, and fly across the country in the evening. It's exceptionally easy to stay organized thanks to the internal bucket and four access points, allowing us to get directly to the gear we need without rifling through everything else. The breathable back panel and hip belt are supremely comfortable for long days spent trekking to our favorite campsite, and the durable fabric sheds rain and snow to keep all of our gear ready to go.

Overall a Solid Bag

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Bag itself is a pretty stout 3-5 day bag. You can fit all your lightweight gear in it and get some good mile in. PROS : Lots of storage space, Comfortable, Easily accessible pocketsCONS: The Pro cube can not hold as much as advertised. I ordered the Pro Camera Cube, and probably should have gotten the deep. If you have 6 Prime lenses that do not have an aperture of 2.4/1.8 then you may be alright. But I cannot fit my 70-200/24-70/12-23/105mm and 35mm with the camera. Ive tried multiple configurations, but the cube isn't deep enough to lay them down and close the bag, which is unfortunate. I may order the Pro Deep just to compare. -Overall I will continue to give the gab 5 stars, even without the cube I can put all the gear in the bag and use it for the intended purpose. These guys make a solid product. Jason.

Great pack

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this pack. It's sturdy and holds a lot.The chest strap fell off before I even got to the airport, however. That piece needs to be thought.

Photography meets Backpacking

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had the bag for about 1.5 years now, and feel I now have enough experience with the product to feel comfortable giving it a brief review.First, why did I purchase the bag? I love to hike and photograph the landscapes I have the privilege of traversing on my adventures in nature. My extensive photography kit (camera, multiple zoom and prime lenses, filters, and a tripod) is too bulky and expensive to carry in a normal hiking or backpacking bag that lacks a built-in or removable camera cube, and my longer hikes and backpacking trips require too much additional gear to fit in a traditional camera bag. So I decided to find a bag that fits both needs. After hours of searching products and reviews online, the result was WANDRD's FERNWEH.So what do I think of the bag? With the addition of the ESSENTIAL DEEP CAMERA CUBE, I can fit all of my photography gear and additional hiking supplies. Mission accomplished! The build quality of the bag is undeniably high; zippers feel robust and have loosened just a little bit with use (one of the initial gripes many have with the bag is tight zippers), the external material is practically waterproof except in moderate or heavy rain (the bag shrugs off light drizzle and snow with no problem), and the internal padding is soft and thick. My only complaint with the bag is the weight; for longer trips, the bag is on the heavy side. Overall, I am pleased with the bag and know it will accompany me on my adventures for years to come.

Super versatile travel and backpacking pack

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the Fernweh pack for a variety of outdoor adventures -- hiking, camping, weekends in the woods ... I chose it specifically for the option to pack a deep camera cube. The bag has exceeded my expectations. It's very thoughtfully designed, well made, and extremely versatile. It's comfortable, sufficiently spacious for extended trips, and easy to convert for different uses. Quickly becoming my go-to bag for any adventurous travel!

Solid backpack

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This backpack’s material is durable and weather-resistant and the design is super user-friendly. Happy with my purchase so far. I will be going backpacking in Iceland in a few weeks, and I am confident that I will be able to easily live out of this pack.

A Big 50L - Multipurpose!

I have been on the hunt for a 50ish L pack for Ski Hut trips, S.A. and Europe travel, etc.. I am a hobby photographer, but dont ALWAYS have my camera with me. I took this bag on a trip this weekend to a ski in, ski out hut in Colorado, and it was PERFECT. The access inside and out, all of the gear loops for attachment, the bottom gear hammock, and the bladder pocket are all so multi-functional and really lend themselves to it being a versatile pack. Its extremely well built, extremely comfortable, and I am so excited for the next trip I get to use this pack on. I'll be adding the mini-camera cube to it in the future, but it will still be plenty big for everything I need! 10/10 would buy again, and have recommended to a few friends already!

Impressions Review: Go Bag /Flex Hike

Pros:- Premium feel- Multiple access- Adjustable fit to carry- Clean look- External Expansion Harness <-- Super neatCons:- Features not clear- Cost $$$- Unnecessary amount of tags- Rainfly and accessory straps NOT INCLUDEDLet it be very clear that I have not gotten to use this bag at all yet as it is still being sorted out to be set up as a Go Bag. I originally was going to pick one of the Hexad Carry all Duffal but noticed the FRENWEH.After maybe over an hour's worth of videos I think the biggest reason I went with this was the multiple access and the just plain, stealth simple black look it has.Research: Probably half the reason why it is not a full 5 stars was I struggled to understand all of the features and the design choices, Hence the maybe an hour's worth of videos I had to watch, including the Wandrd YouTube video which also was maybe too short / glazed over some of the details needed. At first, on the YouTube page, I thought there wasn't a video until I found it on the store page link only....why?First impression: For sure 50L was a big boy. The best way to describe it is a tad smaller than what you see or imagine a big hiking/camping bag would be.there were maybe 3 too many tags on the bag. the tags with the little paper feature that little plastic wire holding onto it. I found it a little off-putting/distracting and it should have all just been kept in the main tag with all the features and size/dimension, all in one clean and simple. The main Tag: Though it listed the some/most features, again it is why I had to watch an hour's worth of videos to figure out all the features and where they were at, it served more of an ad to all the not included/additional accessories sold separately. The Bag - Goods and Bad: Just listing off what I'm seeing, If you do get the bag you will remember this point when you say to yourself "What is this", "Where is that", and "How do you use this" or" what was this designed for". It's just not entirely clear when you look at this loop but have to reference the video to find out it's for ICE AXE/ Ski Poles. The waist Straps are thick which is good and bad, from what I've seen it's not the most friendly to remove, it is very nice looking but requires commitment. It looks like there were a lot of thoughts put into the bag and you really see it when you see it, lots of generous elastic straps to manage the extra straps to keep it from feeling overwhelmed by all the extra slack of straps everywhere. the Ice Axe feature makes you feel this was very much designed for the cold outdoors. The modularity of accessing the main compartment gives it top-notch flexibility. I would have liked to see this package feel complete for the price as I bought the rainfly and one set of accessory straps separately. The laptop compartment is more of a feature than a function. It is there but nothing to scream about. There is a lot more to say, ask, or point out (makes me wonder if it's too late to make a YouTube channel) but I say if you have the cash, an outdoor person who carries a lot of tech/ gear give it a look you might just like it.To Wandrd: Great job on the bag, very well thought out on features but I would ask you to help some of the outsiders understand how some people could use these features by posting demonstrations or examples on YouTube.

This is the exact bag I've been looking for

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While I haven't gone out into the woods yet, this is the bag I've been searching for. As a Boy Scout leader, I'm always looking for additional carrying capacity for gear, as well as my common photography items. This bag has both; and now I'm looking forward to my next camping trip.

Only Travel Pack I will use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This beautiful bag has not only been designed to be the cleanest, sleekest bag on the market, but has the most useful layout imaginable. Its the perfect size for those longer trips (where you dont want to roll a bag and get the extra checked bag charge) but also works great for those heavy activity weekends (like climbing and backpacking). The bags texture and water resistance is something I wish I could apply to more things in my life. The only reason you will be disappointed when you buy this bag is because you did not buy it sooner. BIG love to WANDRD for this one!
