These particular Metrons have a 55mm deep and 25mm width profile, honed from Vision's CFD and wind tunnel testing and are designed to reduce drag and hold speed while pairing better with the increasingly wider road rubber between 25 to 30mm wide. Further aerodynamic touches come from the reduced distance between the hub flanges, and the straight pull bladed spokes threading into its durable ABS nipples. The ABS nipples use a special self-locking design to keep spokes from loosening and thus, coming out of true. This results in a wheelset that's durable and will remain true for many seasons. The efficiency doesn't just extend to the flats, in fact, this wheelset is a stage racer or one-wheelset rider's dream come true. At 1690-grams, it isn't a burden on the climbs and is just at home at everyday training as it is for weekend racing duties.

Vision builds these wheels by hand and laces it an asymmetric 2:1 pattern front and rear with 21 spokes up front and 24 in the rear. By doubling up the spokes on the drive side rear and disc side front, it helps improve the power transfer and braking torque and allows the spoke tension to be higher on the reduced spoke side for better balancing of tension that’s inherent in dishing the wheels for a rotor or cassette. Speaking of cassettes, this version comes with an alloy Shimano/SRAM 11-speed road freehub body. To ensure smooth spinning for several seasons, the hubs are fitted with 6 sealed cartridge bearings total, with the rear receiving the angular contact variety providing proper bearing preload for smooth spinning and long life. The wheels include QR, 12, and 15mm Thru-Axle adapters for the front and QR and 12mm Thru-Axle ones for the rear.
