Great Wheelset!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I have owned and ridden quite a few wheelsets from other brands. Wheels like Zipp 303, 404, 454, and Roval Rapide CLX. I was pleasantly surprised at the performance these wheels gave while still being easy to setup and service. Setting the tire bead on the rim was a breeze, and it wasn't a giant pain to pop the bead if I needed to add more sealant. The new Vision hubs are also a real treat because they use a ratchet ring that is similar to the ever reliable DT Swiss EXP hubs. They are also LOUD. If you want a great sounding loud hub, these are the ticket. The wheels come with tubeless tape and stems, and a great storage bag that I wasn't expecting. The ride quality of the wheels is great, and the aero is everything you would expect from a tour winning product. It's like a combo of my favorite things from Zipp and Roval. Overall would absolutely recommend these wheels.

Excellent All-Rounder
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I’ve been running these on my road bike for a few months and love ‘em. The important details: 1. 21mm internal width with a hooked bead 2. 45mm rim depth 3. PRS ratchet hub with a 5 degree engagement angle 4. I weighed mine at 1,521g with rim tape, valves, and lockrings. 5. No rider weight limit on these or any other FSA/Vision wheelset These really are one wheel to do it all. I’m a fan of running as deep a wheel as you can get away with, and where I live (Front Range of Colorado), it’s important to consider weight and crosswinds. 40-50mm depth wheels are perfect for me and most of my riding. I’ve got some 28mm Vittoria Corsa Next (my favorite road tire) set up tubeless on these. These have a hooked bead, so you can run whatever tires you want, with or without tubes. I have had good experiences with hookless road wheels, but having the flexibility of a hooked bead IS nice. These are a pro level wheel, but they strike a reasonable balance between stiffness and comfort. That may come down to my preference of tubeless and corresponding lower pressures, but they also spin up pretty effortlessly and hold speed better than any other wheel I’ve ridden in this depth range. No perceptible lateral flex when sprinting; you get that nice “kck kck kck” as you sway the bike out of the saddle. No issues with spoke creak or detensioning (I didn’t check spoke tension out of the box). I usually prefer j bend spokes for ease of service but these straight pull spokes have been solid (they do look cool too) and they tend to be a tiny bit lighter than j bend. The rear hub is objectively loud, especially at speed. Pretty typical deep thrum you hear from hubs with ratchet internals. These come with a rim strip installed, but tubeless tape and valves are included, along with some nice simple wheel bags for travel. They also come with internally-splined rotor lockrings and a cassette spacer. If you’re looking for a top tier mid-depth wheelset with a hooked rim, you can’t go wrong with these. These would pair well with an endurance bike, they could be a gravel race option, or even as a shallower choice for an aero race bike. They’re lightweight, especially for this rim depth.
