Vans knows our adrenaline-junkie lifestyle extends beyond the skate park, so they took features from their techy snowboard boots and included them in a trek-ready sneaker built for cold-weather hikes. Love these shoes. BOA should be the only way to go. I don't want regular laces ever again on my shoes. BOA+Van+ ultracush+hydroguard+insulated....Best shoes ever made!! I need to return for smaller size cause I was looking for womens size. Backcountry made returns easy and I got what I wanted. THANK YOU!

These Sneakers Think They're Boots!!

Purchased these just before a snowboarding trip to Colorado and other than my snowboard boots, they were all I wore and all I needed. The fit is dead on true. These sneakers think they're boots! They are so warm and waterproof. They can handle anything winter can throw at them. Rain, sleet, snow, slush, mud, their tougher than the US Postal Service! It's Spring here now and I'm sad they'll have to go in the closet. They are almost too warm to wear any other season. Next winter can't come soon enough. The BOA system is great! super easy on and super easy off. They cinch up just like laces, but in half the time, and they can't come untied without my permission. I hope Vans implements BOA into more of their styles. Super cool new tech in a classic Vans style. I can't recommend these enough.

Honestly picked these just for the Boa feature. I've tried a lot of different waterproof/insulated boots/shoes, from Teva, Columbia and other brands, and these ones are my favorite so far. I've been wearing them pretty much every day for the past month, and they're holding up nicely so far. I usually run through a pair of this type of shoe every 6-8 months, and I can easily see these lasting that long wearing them every day. Size: these 9.5 are a little big on me, and I am usually somewhere in between 9.5-10. I feel like I would have fit better in a size 9. So expect them to run a little larg. Waterproofing/insulation: I've gone as far as standing in a bowl of water for about 2 minutes to see if anything got through, not a drop, sometimes I get confused thinking that they finally got a hole somewhere and are letting water in, only to realize that my feet were just sweating because of how warm they can get, especially in warmer weather. I would not recommend wearing them in the summer time. 10/10 waterproofing and insulation imo Boa: it's so nice. Evenly tightens across the whole shoe like it's supposed to, not cutting off your toes while too loose on the ankle or vise versa.
