The Speciale 8 Pedals from Time are an enduro-focused pedal built using a slightly larger aluminum body, compared to a pared-down XC pedal, for more foot stability over demanding terrain. The Speciale 8 is also a great option for aggressive trail riders, since the platform is slightly smaller than the Speciale 12. This pedal utilizes a micro-adjustable clamping system for release tension, and four adjustable pedal pins that let us fine-tune the amount of friction between pedal and shoe. We're thoroughly impressed with this design, as it is one of the most tunable systems across the industry.

Listed weight is not correct
I was considering these as an upgrade to my current MX6 pedals. However, Time's website lists the weight for these as 196 g/pedal, not the 96 g/pedal listed here. BC.com Live Chat confirmed that the correct weight is 196 g/pedal, so beware if you are considering these.

I have rode Time ATAC XC pedals for 10+ years and love the ease of engagement, the way they shed mud and how durable they are. Riding in Texas there is a lot rocks and pedal strikes, I have only once had a pedal break and it was 5 years old. When I got a Stumpjumper I opted for these pedals. I was also coming back after being hit by a truck which broke my back and pelvis and I think the bigger platform provides more stability which I need now. These have the same great engagement I have come to know and love. My pedals are set for a bit more float and it makes them a bit easier to get out of. When I have to get off the bike I love knowing I will not be fumbling around to try to clip back in. I just ordered a second pair for my new Specialized Levo SL!
