Every mountain biker needs a bell. Honestly, it works better than shouting around blind corners while you're speeding down the trail. We'd recommend Timber's MTB Bell. With the flick of a finger you can silence it, or open it up to let it rig as you bomb down the trail. Silence when you want it, dings when you need it. Increase your trail awareness and let others know you're coming.

Exactly what I needed
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- Bolt-on
Loud when it needs to be, quiet when it doesn't, with no effort. The switch could be a bit smoother, but I have no other complaints.

Picture doesn't match item
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
The picture shows the version with a bolt on clamp. But currently the only option in stock is a quick release one with a rubber band that holds the bell on. This version requires 2 hands to turn the bell on and off because the band isn't tight enough and the bell just spins around your bar when you try to push the button

works great
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I ride crowded two-way trails near my house, and the Timber bell is definitely a helper. I can keep my momentum because most everyone hears me coming and moves over to the side, sometimes before I see them! After two years the mechanism is a bit warn, so the lever slips down. I plan to install some grip tape and it will work better again. It is nice to be able to turn it off and on so it isn't always jingling. During the pandemic, I ride with it on almost all the time.
