Watch out for pebble beaches with this chair
I’m an expedition sea kayaker and used this chair on coarse pebble beaches along the Alaska peninsula. On those surfaces, a support rod actually broke right through the sleeve. I’ve sewed it up and it should continue to function, but from now on I’ll be mindful that the support rods need to be on firm ground.

Best Combination
Light, compact, a bit more fragile as a result. Difficult to replace Delrin rods. Open ends fit Xlite and Xtherm pads better than closed end pads and save weight.

Chair is great, but sleeping mat exploded.
I was extremely happy the first few times using it, but not so much when my sleeping mat Therm-a-Rest NeoAir All Season SV internal air chambers exploded on the last trip. Not fun sleeping on a sleeping mat that looks like a sausage.

not even close to as good as the old Trekker Hiking Chair
I am sure it weighs less but not as good as the old chair, bring back the older model as an option.

Therm-A-Rest Trekker Lounge Chair
Product was exactly as advertised. It is easy to set-up and easy to adjust. I highly recommend this chair kit. I will primarily be using this in my tent. The only thing I would change is the location of the clips on the adjustment straps. I have very little head-room in my small conical backpacking hot tent and will be sitting up from a prone position to connect the straps and clips to form the chair. For me it would be easier if the clips were at the thigh instead of the armpit area. But I am old with bad shoulders.

Proven to Be Well Worth It for Reclined Awake Time on Luxury Pad
Works well and for my money, definitely worth it for any amount of reclined (awake time) on the Luxury Pad. I purchased the larger 25 IN model to go with my Luxury Pad, the fit seems too loose, probably should've gone with the smaller 20 IN Chair.

Genuine Therma a Rest R (Cascade Designs Inc)
I have one from about 25 years ago. It was made it so that two singles could be joined together and that two people could sleep comfortably alongside each other. Is this an option available with the modern ThermaRest seat/mats?
