Nothing's worse than heinous blisters, trenchfoot, and mangled toes (except maybe a bear stealing your food or a hungry marmot that tries to eat your tent while you're sleeping). The North Face designed the lightweight Verbera II GTX Men's Hiking Boot to alleviate the first three problems (there isn't a boot that deters marmots, yet), by giving it a soft and flexible nubuck upper that's plenty durable, and a waterproof, breathable Gore-Tex membrane to keep your feet dry on soggy trails and in dewy morning meadows. It has more cushioning and support than seems proper, too—a Northotic Pro EVA footbed, EVA heel cradle and gel cushion, and a compression-molded EVA midsole all work together to soften impact and improve stability on long treks under heavy loads. If that's not enough, there's a Smartlite toe protector, too, and a super-sticky Vibram sole to help you keep your balance when you're aiming a kick at another too-friendly marmot.
