Fairly solid jacket.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Picked up this jacket for my partner as a waterproof layer, the stretch and weight are very nice on mixed weather excursions. Only major downside, no hanging loop for secure attachment or drying.

No. I don't like to have the same thing more than once
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I plan to wear this jacket for springtime, like when it's not too cold. I will also use it for rainy days. It fits just right and I love it.

I would repurchase!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Exactly as expected and pictured. Actually waterproof!! Great coat for staying dry in the rain and a great shell for windy weather!

No
I got this jacket for my birthday a few years ago and it hasn't been waterproof from the beginning. The water is not even coming in from the seams but from the fabric itself. I once had my phone in my pocket during a rainy hike in New Zealand and unfortunately I had to buy a new phone afterwards as mine died from water damage. The jacket looks great and is a very good fit. I loved that it is a little bit longer but it an definitely not be called a rain jacket.

Already ordered a 2nd one
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love this jacket, because I spent so much time searching for ONE jacket that I could wear with various layers underneath in fall/winter/spring, including in the rain. It's thin but also keeps me warm and dry, and I love being able to pull up a hood to keep my head warm even if I don't have my hat with me. The side hand pockets are a perfect width (a recent jacket purchase from another company placed them way to close to the closing zipper so that's why I noticed) and they house my finger gloves perfectly when I'm not wearing them. The last time I had a jacket I loved this much was a Northface "Windstopper" but I couldn't seem to find the same one (that one was probably 10+ years old and had been relegated to my car emergency stash coat). Anyway, I hate hate hate having a million jackets - I just wanted ONE that did everything. This Futurelight nearly meets that requirement for me! However, I do have suggestions for Northface to make it better: -TWO inside chest pockets not just one (I have to stuff my slim-fit hat, PLUS a mask, chapstick and sanitizer all in the single, left-side pocket, which is lumpy and ends up making my left b o o b look weird) -the chest pocket(s) zipper's bottom should stop about 1 inch before the pocket bottom; everytime I unzip it and then lean over after forgetting to re-zip, my chapstick and sanitizer fall out - if it was 1 inch deeper, this wouldn't happen -I'd love if the chest pocket had an *outside* zipper, so I didn't have to unzip my jacket to get to the chest pocket -when I pull the hood snug, the "poochy" part makes a tunnel straight to my ears, so if I'm not wearing my slim-fit hat under the hood then my ears get cold, which shouldn't happen if the hood is up (my old Northface "windstopper" jacket didn't have this problem) Despite my suggestions, this jacket is as close to what I wanted that I could find (and I look at a TON of jackets online). So like my mom advised me, I ordered a 2nd one to save in the bag

Perfect Windbreaker
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is light weight and does feel more breathable while being waterproof. Also love the color.

Not waterproof
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket is not waterproof. I'm currently hiking the Camino and experienced my first day for downpouring rain. I felt that my clothing under the jacket was getting wet but thought it was just sweat. When I reached my destination I found all my clothing soaked through from the rain. Pretty jacket but non-functional. Now I'm stuck with this jacket for the next 400 miles. Will try to return to North Face when I'm back.
