The North Face found that the waterproof laminates of the past were not quite up to speed, so they developed FUTURELIGHT technology, allowing their outerwear to keep up with the demands of alpine adventures while becoming more environmentally sustainable. The Brigandine FUTURELIGHT Bib Pants offer a completely waterproof construction that still allows us to breathe through the membrane when we're working up a sweat hiking up to an untracked powder stash.

I would absolutely buy these again.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Professional user/Avalanche Educator. These bibs have all the features that I need when working in the field, with plenty of storage and oversized cargo pockets to fit field-books, beacons, and lightweight gloves. It would be nice to have a gusseted crotch design and extra keeper loops sewn in all pockets.

Comfortable, weather-proof
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a slender, 5'10" man and expert skier. I bought the men's small size, regular length in a dark green khaki color with black trim. These fit me well and give me enough space to wear different baselayers underneath to adapt to different conditions. These bibs have been a great addition to my ski wardrobe. I have worn these bibs for both resort skiing and for backcountry touring. It is much more comfortable to not have multiple waistbands (baselayer, ski pants, belt for ski pants, backpack hip belts) and to have a garment that allows me to move freely that does not slide down or require a belt. Here in the Pacific Northwest our weather is often wet and snow can become rain but these bibs with their Futurelight material have been waterproof enough for my needs- they have performed better than some other hardshells I've tried out.

Definitely recommend
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Been searching high and low for a ski bib that meets both my professional and personal requirements, these definitely meet both! TNF has this one pretty dialed with large enough cargo pockets to hold field notebooks, beacons, and other necessities for both work and play. There are additional pockets in all the right places for your daily needs (wallet, keys, etc.) as well. The softshell upper breaths well which is critical for the uptrack. Very solid iteration, now please don't go changing things...

awesome bib
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] the material is super breathable, yet they keep me dry all day. totally wind and waterproof. the bib is super comfortable and its pockets are great to keep your phone and transceiver. they do not block your movement at all and they keep all of the snow where it is supposed to be, out.

Nice Bib - But My Bottom is Wet After Sitting on Snowy Chair
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using these bibs for the last 4-6 weeks skiing in Vermont. I've skied in them for 19 days, albeit not full days, so I think I have enough time in them to appreciate the pros and cons. The upside is that they are lightweight and I really like the design, but the fabric on wet days or snowy chairlift rides soaks water and my base layers have consistently been wet. I'm an active skier and these breath well, yet what is so disappointing is the seat is NOT water proof. Even with a little bit of snow on the chairlift my baselayers are damp. I have skied in the rain, aka east coast immature snow, and I got wet. Bottom line, no one should have a damp bottom while skiing. I've owned Goretex for years and based on the marketing for futurelight I put down my card to try them out. I cannot recommend these for skiing, the fabric is a real let down. TNF, is this a bad batch of fabric?
