I got this for my husband. He says its perfect weight, its very flexible and It's not stiff at all. He wore it riding in high elevation where temperature dropped pretty fast in the evening. Its Very warm. It has a removable liner if you dont want too much warmth. Also it has a-lot of hidden pockets We live in The mountains where it gets really cold and this is perfect for the snow and for layering .

First thing both I and the person it was purchased for noticed was how heavy it is. This could be a pro and/or a con. It definitely will save on buying a weighted blanket. LOL ?? Quality seems nice and definitely will keep one warm. Time will tell on durability. Has a smell which makes sense being recycled plastic.

This seemed like a very nice quality jacket, especially for the price. Unfortunately the cut/fit was off for me. While it felt good through the shoulders and sleeves, the midsection/belly area was much too loose. I debated keeping it, but felt it would get annoying. Going down a size would have made it too tight in the shoulders. For those who wear dress shirts, I would equate it to the old ?regular? fit as opposed to the more more modern cuts.

I love this jacket. Its super warm and i love the detachable hood feature. I also often just wear the inner coat. its super warm. Its also made with recycled plastic which is awesome.

Coat is super comfortable. Fit is perfect. Bought the pewter but it?s more of a green. Picture shows more gray but it definitely has a green tint. Returning and getting the black.

This jacket hits all the bases, and at a ridiculously low price point. I bought this jacket to replace a Columbia 2 piecer used for winter play, but lost the liner. I wanted a jacket for the occasional foray to midwestern ski slopes, sledding with the kids, cold walks in the winter, and a to-and-from work jacket that could handle all conditions. After this winter in Chicago, the jacket proved it can handle it all. It is the warmest jacket I have owned ( -10 degrees, no problem) The hood is excellent, and removable. The length is perfect. The styling is between contemporary dress and play so you can wear it anywhere and not look out of place. The inner liner and outer jacket on their own are great. Upper chest pockets are perfect. When I ask my wife which jacket I should wear, this is the one she points to. The fabric has held up very well and has remained stain free and waterproof. Still looks new after 5 months of wear and tear. The only minor design improvement I would suggest is to tailor the bottom end of the jackets for a more tapered look. The drawstring on the outer jacket solves this issue and works to keep the wind out on the blowy days, but the inner jacket liner could use a drawstring or a few inches taken in on the bottom hem. so when used on its own it can do what the outer shell does. This would then create the perfect trifecta of fit, function, and fashion. Hats off to Backcountry for making an affordable product that works!

purchased for my husband, who is not so tall but very broad-shouldered. Most ski jackets that fit at the shoulders end up being too long, but this one fits perfectly!

From the moment I took the jacket out of the delivery box I knew it was going to be nice. It fits great and it is warm. The zip out liner is soft and warm for the colder days, but I don't usually use it since it is not quite cold enough yet. The only negatives so far are that it is not water-resistant, and when I adjusted the bottom draw string it broke. I am still keeping the jacket regardless because it is so nice.
