G2 RS (A1) Disc Brake
With a design based on SRAM's gravity-oriented Code brakes, the G2's offer "mini-Code" power in a trimmed-down package, making them a perfect option for trail riders seeking the power of a 4-piston brake without the extra weight. These G2 RS brakes are the mid-level model, featuring SRAM's SwingLink lever design that acts as a type of cam, magnifying the force of your fingers so you get maximum power and modulation without needing a death grip on the levers to slow you down.

Garbage
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer

I've had Guides and G2s on 3 different bikes over the years, most recently these G2 RS brakes that came with a new bike. All the versions have been complete garbage. I do like SRAMs modulation, but these are SO underpowered. I'm not even a big rider - 160 pounds with gear. Pay the little weight penalty and get the far superior Codes, 4-piston Shimano, or any one of the many other better options. Despite how they seem to be specced, these definitely don't belong on a trail bike...I wouldn't even run them on an XC bike.
