Why We Like The G2 R Disc Brake

Modeled after SRAM's gravity-oriented Code brakes, the G2's offer "mini-Code" power in a trimmed-down package. This makes them a great option for our trail bikes because they still offer impressive stopping power and 4-piston calipers, without any extra weight. These G2 R disc brakes are the entry-level model, but still offer the same power, modulation, and tool-free reach adjustment as the higher-end offerings.

Much better stopping power

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I bought these along with 180mm rotors for a Trek Dual Sport 3. It could be said that they are over kill due to the tires are smaller than what you would get on a mountain bike. However, these allow me to brake very easy using one finger. They have great stopping power and seem to modulate smooth for me. Installation was easy and worked everything else on the handle bar.

Not bleeding edge. Otherwise great

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Very good stopping power and feels good. When installing, I was not able to find a a bleeding edge compatible port, ended up just doing a quick-and-dirty top bleed since I'd had the setup ready for bleeding edge. Riding fine, very adjustable, It's a step up from the formula brakes that I broke
