Bell
It’s no secret that the key to any successful relationship is high quality, and frequent, communication. Bike trails and roads are no different, as they host multiple user groups — cyclists, runners, hikers, equestrians, etc., and who wants to risk accidents or trail access issues? Use of a quality bell can easily help you avoid unwanted conflict.
Engineered from the ground up to be the best possible bell, the Spurcycle Bell has re-established the bar for bells. It is crafted from premium brass and stainless steel in the good ‘ol USA. This durable bell has a distinctive, yet pleasant tone that resonates up to three times as long as most bells — an extended period whose effects are immeasurable while navigating crowded pedestrian malls or approaching blind corners or driveways.

Disappointing
- Familiarity:

Based on the description and the other reviews, I expected this bell to be much louder than it actually is. I have another, much less expensive bill on my other pipe that is louder than this one.

Best bike bell in town!
- Familiarity:

Bought the Spurcycle bell after reading up on some reviews. In short, it’s the best bike bell money can buy. Imitators can be bought at a fraction of the price, but the secret sauce of a real Spurcycle bell is that the bell itself is made from a brass alloy that creates a tone that is more clear and has a longer sustain than its competitors. The bell comes with mounting hardware for both diameters of handlebars (mountain bike and road bike round bars). There is a Youtube video which explains the installation process. Please watch it prior to installation. It is a little pricey but it can be had for 20% off as long as you wait for REI or Backcountry coupons, which are offered a few times a year.

- One Size Fits All
There's a knock-off (really a few knock-offs!) of the Spurcycle Bell on the market, but nothing beats the original! This has the fit, finish, and sound you'd expect from a great product. It's assembled by hand, in the USA, so make sure to support the real company that developed this bell, and not one of the cheaply-made copy cats.

Lovely bike bell
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I've had this bell for several weeks and I'm very satified with it. The design and build are top-notch. It's perfect for alerting folks from behind that I'm approaching. It's pleasant tone and moderate volume level illicit smiles. The all-black version seamlessly blends with the look of my handlebar array and the small size is perfectly in scale. I highly recommend!

loud and low profile
- Familiarity:

This is a great bell. It's loud enough that most people wearing headphones notice, and it's smaller than many other larger, quieter bells. It can be challenging to slot the attachment piece inside of the bell, but it's very secure once it's attached. I would recommend getting a thin rubber strip to go between the handle bar and the bell's metal attachment piece. It could scratch the handle bars, and for me, it can get dampened by the handle bar grips.

One the coolest new additions to my bike

I saw one of these at a local store and wanted to get a dark one with the green button. When it arrived I saw how well designed it was and when mounted it emits a very distinct sound that can be heard by the folks on the bike path who are normally oblivious to the outside world. Very well made and the fit and finish is superb. I now have 4 of these bells for various bikes and just love them. I took advantage of a limited time discount which made the bell even better. The nice thing about the sound is that when you are coming up behind someone, the distinct sound lets them know something is coming. I would highly recommend this product. thanks for keeping them in stock.

Ridiculously good

I loved my old bell, I thought the ring was clear and loud and then it fell apart and was replaced by this Spurcycle bell. Holy Cow!! I didn't know what clear and loud was until now! This thing gives off the clearest, long resonating, loud ring I think I've ever heard outside of cathedral bells. One pull of the trigger and it just sings forever. At first I wasn't sure if it was a good thing. I like bells on the trail because they sound way more polite than shouting "RIDER" at the top of your lungs to address the person walking their dog with noise cancelling headphones on. This thing is startlingly loud and yet cheerful sounding. The mount is also very secure although I put a stip of inner tube in between the metal strap and my carbon bars. It's also good to know that it will even go around a 35mm bar if you need/want to place it near the clamping area instead of near the grips. I have mine right above my dropper lever though. Looking forward to more alerted trail users on my rides going forward!

Have not had or seen better!

Expensive, yes. Does what it is designed to do exceptionally well, yes. Light, clean & unobtrusive install in the cockpit while being easy to use, yes. High quality materials, durable, easy to install unless you are not very good with tools or "digitally challenged". These are awesome, I have four of them one each for my road and gravel bikes and for my wife's. My first is on my road bike and has 5 years and over 40,000 miles of riding on it through all manner of conditions. In my view it is simply perfect for bike trail, multi-use trail, and road riding. No, it will not cut through intense urban traffic noise, for which you would need a bloody air horn anyway, but for everything else is get the job done very nicely and as others have stated the tone and duration is highly effective without being irritating. I use it for passing other cyclists, warning runners and pedestrians, and signaling my approach to blind corners. As others have also said it will also cut through most earbud users who are oblivious to the world around them though not so effective on over-ear noise cancelling ear muff users. Highly recommended.
