In 1985 Giordana Cremonese took fabrics from his family's forty-year old  mills in the Dolomites and began to design cycling-specific clothing. His inspiration was the success of the line of skiwear that he had introduced in 1972. The Sportful Grupetto Classic Bib Shorts perfectly complement the jersey by the same name and are treated with the same attention to fit and detail that Italian clothing is known for. 

The bib shorts are constructed in panels that are cut for comfort and support while in riding position. Sewn from AeroFlow Compress, this Lycra Power fabric has two primary functions. First, it works to reduce muscle vibration and thereby minimize fatigue caused by riding on rough roads or pave. Second, the AeroFlow features a dimpled finish which gives it an aerodynamic advantage over non-textured Lycras. Aiding in this property, all flatlock stitching has been strategically placed outside of the line of air flow. Mesh bib straps help to ventilate heat and house a single mp3 or radio pocket.

Sportful's BodyFit Pro chamois is used in the Grupetto bibs. This insert was developed with input from Sportful's sponsored professional cyclists. The variable thickness of the padding places the right amount of support beneath your sit bones, while seamless construction and appropriately placed channels relieve pressure on soft tissue areas and the perineal zone.
