Why We Like The Smith I/O MAG Chromapop Goggles
We thought Smith's I/O couldn't get any better at keeping our eyes on the prize, snow or shine, and then the I/O MAG came along. The I/O MAG Chromapop Goggles come with all the same technological advantages as Smith's top-tier I/O series, now with a lens change system that's easier to use. Magnets placed throughout the frame resist natural forces when you're ripping around the mountain yet make midday lens changes a snap when the clouds roll in post-lunch.

Fully Satisfied!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I bought these googles a couple of weeks ago and used them for skiing in July in Chile. Very comfortable and clear googles. I totally recommend them for sunny ski days (look forward to the cloudy lenses).

You definitely get what you’re paying for
I’ve had these for about a year now and I haven’t had any fogging up which is good due to their new ventilation system. The lenses are the main reason i bought these. They’re incredibly easy to switch out and are very durable. I haven’t had a single problem with them yet. I can clearly see the patterns in the snow too, if I couldn’t then I would have sent them back. They’re worth the price if you’re still thinking about buying them.

nice goggles, but a little small for me
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it

I tried these on and decided I wasn't crazy about the fit. I compared these to the fit of my old Smith Squads and decided they were going to be too small, and they seem to pinch my nose.

Disappointing Lenses

I switched to the Smith I/O Mag goggles this season and was excited to try out my new photochromatic lens. I skied in the Smith goggles for six days, three days in Montana and three days in Vermont in different conditions - blue sky, low light, snowing. I'm thoroughly disappointed with the Smith googles. I struggled to see contrast with the Smith goggles even when I switched the yellow low light lens. I was compared the Smith Chromapop lens and my old Oakley Prizm lens on back to back runs. The Oakley Prize lenses provide significantly better contrast, definition, and sharpness. Sadly I wasted $270 on my Smith goggles.

Buy Smith or suffer the consequences
Smith continues to exceed industry standards, not only for the quality of their prodcut, but also for standing behind their products.

Fantastic clarity, but lens scratch easily
I love the goggles in that they fit great and work great. However, the lens scratch incredibly easily. I follow all directions and protect them at all times yet they always somehow end up scratched. I have had 2 lenses now scratched in as many years. My old pair of goggles went 5+ years without a single scratch

These Fog up so much
I Have a pair of the regular IO Goggles (non-mag) that I've had for years. They were getting a little old and had a scratch that bugged me. So I decided to upgrade and ever since wearing they constantly fog up. No matter what I do. I wear the same helmet and attire as my older IO's that have no issues with. I end up just throwing on my old ones so I can see and don't even wear my new mags.

Great goggles - fast turn
Great goggles - fast turn around on my replacements. Really appreciate your trade-in / lifetime warranty service. It costs very little to make these goggles and the margins on new ones are high. So I respect that SMITH is willing to maintain customer support by providing replacements at no additional cost.
