Love this vest!
Love it! Incredibly comfortable with just the right number of pockets, hangars and attachments. Would absolutely recommend it for all anglers novice through guide.

Pro Color Choice
Since it is a quality, higher-end vest; why not offer it in "Stone" or very light tan, as opposed to just "grey"? Even old, cranky, flyfishermen like variety and choice.

Just Right
Even better than I expected! I'm 5'11" and 195 lbs. and the XL fits just right. There is enough room to wear a thermal base layer and a Simms Jacket if needed. The access and layout of the pockets is well thought out. I can keep everything I need within easy reach while using only one had to access it. I've used sling packs, and chest packs, and I'm glad I made the move to this vest. I'm a Vest Man from here ever after. LOL

save your nickels and buy the best,
fabric is very rugged, excellent manufacturing, this is my second G3, first one lasted 14 years. Fits great, only thing I don't like is the retractor tubes are gone and that's where I used to store my forceps so they would be out of the way. Seems to be better quality then my first one, probably the fabric. I won't get 14 years out of this one cause I'm at that point.

Worthy replacement!
Great best. I was looking for a vest to replace my almost 30 year old Goldeneye vest which I retired not because it was worn but because it has become to precious and sentimental to me to keep using. This vest is almost as good and is a worthy replacement with the almost identical pocket styles snd placement. I hope this best last half as long as the vest it is replacing

bad net clip
The strap that holds the D-Ring for the net clip is woefully inadequate. I’ve used it for less than a year and it tore at the stitching. I had a seamstress sew it back on with a sturdier piece of strapping and it should last forever.

The Best Vest!
I am a vest guy, I am much better organized in a vest. That said, this G3 is the best ever...It has so much usable storage, just get it dialed in. I guide in the high mountains of Colorado and there room for everything including rain gear and an extra layer. It's weather worthy and comfortable. Don't leave home without it!

Best vest I have owned
I hate to give this vest 4 stars and would choose 4.5 if possible but there is one thing that needs to be improved. The net attachment is going to fail at some point. Mine did on the Madison after 3 days of use and I eventually just had it re-attached securely at an alterations shop. Others have noted this as well so just plan to take care of this right away if you don't want to risk losing a net on the river. The pockets are awesome and so easy to access boxes and then close. Tons of storage and well placed pockets. The material is somewhat water resistant which is nice in a summer shower. It will wet out eventually but is tough and holds up well. High quality zippers and generous velcro patches for fly drying. There is a lot to like. I think this is the best vest on the market even considering that one flaw. I bought mine in 2018 roughly so maybe Simms has addressed this.
