XTR PD-M9020 Trail Pedals

Shimano’s SPD (Shimano Pedaling Dynamics) pedal system has been a favorite among commuters, recreational roadies, and XC chargers for nearly a quarter-century. With the XTR-PD M9020 Trail Pedal, Shimano has managed shave weight from this vetted design without sacrificing performance.

The M9020 features a large contact plate around the outside of the pedal that dramatically increases the size of your pedaling platform. In fact, this platform is the only difference separating the XTR M9020 from the top-of-the-line “race” classified XTR M9000. While the platform adds a bit of weight, it’s worth it in our minds considering the provided stability and the added convenience of occasionally wearing shoes without cleats. Besides, the M9020 is still lighter than most pedals in Shimano’s mountain range.
