Why We Like The Zen Pro Shoe
Even when the approach is brutal, we can't help but feel peaceful through the miles in the Scarpa Zen Pro Shoe. This light shoe sports a sturdy suede upper with air mesh inserts for ventilated airflow. Scarpa lined the upper in odor-resistant, moisture-managing Cocona for even more fresh comfort. Underfoot, the Zen Pro features a P-Flex footbed that promotes natural movements, while the injected EVA midsole offers long-lasting support for technical terrain. Vibram's Spyder 2 sole sticks to trails without picking up pebbles along the way.

I love the style & color scheme BUT...
- Size Bought:
- 39

- 5' 6"
- Weight:

I like the look, style and color scheme of this shoe BUT I own a pair of Keen's in a similar style that are much more comfortable. Maybe the Keen's are more comfortable because they have been broken in and these haven't. Hopefully, these will prove to be as comfortable and reliable as my Keen's once I hit the trails!

I got a size 39 which fits perfect (true to size). I used to have the Scarpa Gecko Light but they weren't supportive enough for all the hiking I do. I use these for climbing mountains and scrambling ridges in CO. I need something that is supportive for the trail, but also grippy for scrambling. I feel like they fit the bill for this as long as you're not scrambling anything too technical and need to rely on your shoe's edges. They're also very durable. I felt more confident scrambling in the Gecko Lights, but I was willing to sacrifice that for some more support while hiking. They are a bit clunky which I don't love for when I'm trying to scramble the majority of the day (i.e. on the Flatirons, etc.). When I'm doing something like that I wish I had a shoe with a little more precision and less bulk. I might look into another option for my next shoe. For actual rock climbing I'd say these are less than ideal, as they're not the lightest to clip on your harness and climb with.
