Why We Like The Scarpa Mescalito TRK GTX Boot
When we are out in the backcountry, we need a boot to handle the changing conditions we encounter. The Scarpa Mescalito TRK GTX Boot is our go-to boot for hiking and backpacking when the trail calls for a high-top waterproof boot that is as tough as the rocks and dirt we walk over. With an upper made from Perwanger suede and backed by a GORE-TEX membrane, the Mescalito TRK GTX Boot is as tough as they come and offers unrivaled waterproof protection. A Vibram Dynamis Trk and XS Trek Evo tread provides loads of traction in any scenario, and an Ortholite insole cushions our step and reduces fatigue. The dual-density PU midsole helps with shock absorption, and the Schoeller Dynamic fabric at the collar and flex points is a stretch fabric that allows for temperature regulation and is wind and waterproof.

High quality boot
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:

The first trip for these boots was in the Wilderness between 6500 and 7500 ft elevation chasing Elk. Lots of side hill and loose rock. I slipped off logs into streams and walked through muddy wallow and bedding areas, staying dry unless it went above the boot top. Great support and grip. I will be sticking with Scarpa in the future.
