What's the use in schlepping your backcountry setup to the top of gnarly chutes and untouched pillow lines if your boot can't hang on the descent? The Scarpa Freedom SL Alpine Touring Boot carries to your throne as King of the Mountain while balancing weight and hard-charging performance. The burly 120 flex index and four-buckle design offer a more aggressive ride than the standard Freedom, but the SL is almost a pound lighter thanks to the stiff, light Pebax Rnew shell with Advanced Injection Technology. The boot features a Ride Power Block walk mode that delivers 27 degrees of frictionless range of motion for efficient climbing and easily locks back into ski mode for rippin' power transmission on the downhill. 

Long gone are the days when you had to cram your tootsies into torturous race-style boots to get the performance you need. The 101mm anatomic last provides a precise and sensitive fit for medium width feet, while the heat-moldable Intuition Speed Ride liners wrap your feet in buttery comfort usually reserved for footwear other than ski boots. The Freedom SL slips effortlessly into all AT and tech (TLT) bindings with the rugged, lugged Vibram Mountain Plus sole, but for skiers who occasionally catch a bad case of ride-the-chairlift-itis, you can swap for the Vibram Mountain Piste sole (sold separately) and click into alpine bindings. Look, the Freedom SLs know you'll be spending most of your time on backcountry adventures and grinding in the skintrack, but chairlifts happen to the best of us from time to time.
