Why We Like The Salomon XA Pro 3D V9 GORE-TEX Trail Running Shoe
When protection is our chief concern, it's hard to beat the XA Pro trail running shoe—one of Salomon's perennial best sellers. Tough enough to take on the gnarliest trails, it features Salomon's Advanced 3D chassis for stability and motion control while also protecting our feet with sturdy synthetic uppers and a reinforced toe cap. That gives us a stable and durable base while the Contragrip outsole provides us reliable grip on rocks and mixed terrain. For those of us who aren't afraid of sloppy trails or colder weather, this version of the XA Pro features a GORE-TEX membrane for premium weather protection.

Great Shoes
The best waterproof hiking shoes out. Been wearing Solomon shoes for a long time now and buy fair they have the best Gore Tex. Tried other brands and they don’t compare.

Another Great Pair of Shoes
This is my fifth pair of Salomon shoes. Need I say more? They are comfortable, waterproof and work as walking shoes, for light hiking or before and after ski shoes. I will buy them again when these are worn out.

Good feature
The only thing is that the choice of color is not great has it use to be. You should hava more colors because the black is not that popular.

Best shoe I've owned.
I'm in the motorsports industry as a car chief/lead mechanic/builder, and I discovered the version 8 a couple years ago and I am now on my 5th pair this time with the v9 goretex. I won't wear anything else. I abuse these things 7 days a week. I've owned a ton of race crew type shoes over the last 28 years and these are by far the best.

Best outdoor shoes ever.
Solomon XA's are my go to shoes for outdoor use every day. I have several pair and have hiked with them from Antartica to the Arctic, in the Swiss Alps, and the high Sierras - I have tried others and there are none better than my Solomon XAs. Unparalled comfort and stability while remaining warm and dry.

Extremely poor build quality
Have been wearing salomon boots for work and trail runners for hiking/running for years. Bought this pair for a vacation in Asia where I will be walking in alot of rain. Within 3 days of use, the upper lip by where the speed laces tuck in and the side where the zigzag design is started to fray and tear. If this is the durability of the shoe from walking on pavement a few km's a day, I cant imagine how they will hold up on an actual hike/run.

Confortable but poor engineering for the eyelets
confortable shoe but inexcusablely poor engineering choice for the eyelets holding the laces, they break easily and cannot be repaired.

No backheel cushion
It would be amazing, unfortunately it has 0 cushion for backheel that means friction destroys skin. It was the same with v8. Unforgivable for such high price
