First pair of Salomon’s in awhile. Excellent but run small. Usually a 13 but had to go 14 - there’s no 13 ½ which would have been perfect. Comfortable, sure-footed, and well made.

Too small

Have always worn same size in Salomon shoes and while they haven't been especially durable, they have always fit well. These are nearly a full size too small compared to other Salomon styles i have owned. Now i get to pay return shipping because Salomon changed their sizing. And i can't exchange since 14 is the largest size they carry. Thanks Salomon!

Great shoe, but...
These run about a half to full size small, which becomes very apparent once you hit 3 or 4 miles, especially anything downhill. Since I have size 14 feet, that means Salomon doesn't make this shoe in my size. And, since I'd already taken these out for a lengthy test hike, I had to just give them to my dad. He is a size 13 and they fit great. Great for dad, bummer for me.

Favorite hiking shoes but had issues
I wore out the back ankle support within 2 months and now plastic rubs my ankle

Good comfort and waterproofing, but.....
...they are like ice skates on damp/wet rocks or even wet pavement. I contacted customer service and this is what I was told. There was no challenging terrain, simple damp rocks and then damp pavement, literally like ice skates, like no other foorwear I've ever gotten. It's unfortanate, because I like the shoes, but with this "feature", makes them basically useless. (dangerous, and I'm not uncoordinated) I'm not sure why they waterproof them if they aren't meant for even wet pavement. Amazing to hear.

Changed fitment/ sizing. Insole is non-existent
Replaced some similar salomons that rocked 3+ years before i abused them so much that i wanted to retire them to be my "junk shoes". These fall just short of greatness. The insole actually hurts, it's so thin and flat. The sizing has changed, and now i have shoes that are 1/2 size too small. If they fit size- wise and had the soles replaced they would be an above average shoe.

Fitment/Sizing is smaller. Sole is non-existant
Have rocked similar Salomons daily for the last 3 years. They were amazing! The sizing has become 1/2 size smaller... making these uncomfy and the sole needs to be removed and replaced to make it something you could keep on your feet for even a couple hours without foot pain. So close to greatness...

[Edited] nice shoes but tight
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times

- 11.5

I have/have had several different styles of Salomon hiking/trail shoes and these are the tightest. I wear a 10.5 in most brands but with Salomon, I get a size bigger at 11.5. The rubber on these is a lot more durable and stiffer than that on the Speedcross 4 for instance, which wont last more than a summer if pounding pavement. I previously bought the X Crest (not GTX) and they are very comfortable with the loose tongue, and are the reason I bought these... but the Goretex makes these tight to the point where the only taut part of my laces is where they're tied.. Comfortable soles, but strangling around the bridge of my feet just behind the toes. Update: They're getting better. Put on some thick socks or a couple pair, completely loosen the laces then force them on and wear them for awhile to stretch them out.... seems to help. Not returning them just yet.

Fits true
Fits like a glove straight out of the box, as do most every other pair of Soloman's that I have had.
