Great idea, but terrible shoes.
I bought the Gore-Tex versions in January 2022 for the wsterproofing. It has now been 6 months and they are 1) no longer waterproof (any water that is above the soles of the shoes just runs in) 2) the soles are just falling off. Salomon won't warranty them because I didn't only wear them on soft ground. So buyer beware. This is the second straight pair of Gore-Tex shoes where the waterproofing hasn't lasted more than 6 months.

Great neutral trail shoes
My to go trail shoes for rainy days, wet, mud, rocky trails. Definitely recommend for runners who like to feel the ground. Slightly wider than Speedcross model. Just passed 400km and still going strong.

Great shoe
I typically wear the speedcross and wanted to try this just out of curiosity. It’s a great shoe. There’s less drop so me foot feels more stable laterally when trail running. It has a wider toe box than the speed cross which I like but still locks in your mid foot and heel so your foot doesn’t slide around inside. Great shoe overall and a great alternative to the speed cross. I only wish it came in less ostentatious color schemes.

Not my favorite Salomon Shoe
I have owned 9 or 10 pairs of Salomon shoes and love most of them. These do not fit the same as the others. There is more room in the toe and the tongue moves too much. Prefer the Speed cross which has a better, more solid, tight fit and much more durable. The super cross is the most comfortable shoe I have owned.

Great for mud.
Foot feels secure in trainers whilst running. Excellent grip in mud conditions.

Disappointing
I thought after owning probably a dozen Speed Cross over the years I would try something different.... Sadly these are no where near as good. For some reason the laces (which are great on speed cross) do not hold and the tongue slips to the side the and I have to tighten every mile... I wish I'd stuck with the Speed Cross.

Wildcross 2 review
It has been a pleasure running in the new pair of Wildcross 2 trail runners. I have used Speedcross for quite a while and love them but do feel that the Wildcross is going to be better for my wider feet.

Big Grip but Clunky
Coming out of the Sense Ride 2 this feels a bit "bulkier" than what I am used to. Would have loved to get another pair of the Sense Ride 2, but I don't think the new version is the same. Only about 50 miles in and I am feeling like these are more stiff, rugged, and heavy. Wearing these has been similar to trail running in hiking boots. Hoping this is just through the "break-in" period, but definitely a different experience than the Sense Ride (which I grew to love).

Unreal responsiveness
Best shoe I have ever used for hockey. Normally use the Speedcross line but found I was slipping on more lateral movements. These Wildcross treads are so much better with the multi-directional tread. Mid sole is clean and transitions the force well. Upper sole has a snug fit and moulds well to the foot. So happy I gave these a shot.
