Speedcross 5 Trail Running Shoe

A horse that runs well in the slop is called a "mudder", and a runner who runs well in the mud is called "very dirty". If you're out there on the trails no matter what and don't shy away from unfavorable conditions, then the Salomon Speedcross 5 Trail Running Shoe may just be the shoe you've been dreaming of. Back in its newest iteration, the Speedcross is more equipped than ever for looser trail conditions like mud and snow. It's been updated with a softer and tackier rubber outsole compound, and features deeper, more widely spaced lugs to ensure a secure foothold even when you're charging through softer dirt, slippery mud, and summit snows. The updated heel unit, which is taller than its predecessors, helps create more stability for descents in soft trail conditions, while the forefoot maintains flex when you're digging into the trail on steep ascents.

Really great trail shoe for runs and hikes

This is my 4th pair of these shoes, they hold up well and fit my relatively narrow foot without slipping or hot spots. They have worn evenly and without any failures at seams or stitching. Thanks for continuing to make these!

Perfect fit, so comfortable!

This is my 2nd pair of Salomon shoes and I am NOT disappointed. I still have my original pair and wear them daily. They're just not for use in public anymore but are still holding up around the house. They are a perfect fit and I love the quick lace system. Good investment in a great shoe!

Light weight

Coming from Speedcross 3 this pair is super light weight. Promising for a faster and more comfortable run despite the terrain. Seeing as it is a rainy season here. The offer price couldn’t have come at a better time. Would highly recommend.

The best Speedcross available

I've run in every Speedcross generation. The Speedcross 5 is the best of them for rocky, rooty, all conditions single track. They are built like a tank as far as foot protection, but run like a lighter weight shoe. They are comfortable whether running in the mud on a hot day, or the snow at zero F. I'm currently running in my 4th pair, and have stockpiled 2 more pair, since the Speedcross "6" offers no under foot protection, and make my feet hurt any time I step on a rock. Hopefully, when they come out, the Speedcross "7" will return the model to the awesome, all terrain, shoe that the Speedcross 5 is.
