Salomon started construction of the QST with a full length poplar core that provides a damp and consistent feel from tip to tail. Carbon stiffens the ski up without weighing it down, while a Titanal insert increases the ski's edge-to-edge speed and responsiveness. As a major change this ski now features cork in the tip and tail to dramatically decrease chatter at high speeds and add a little stability compared to previous year models.
