Notch Swallowtail Snowboard

There are two kinds of people in the world—those who can ride powder and those who can't. If you lean way back on your board, take it slow through the trees, and stop every few turns to rest, we have some bad news for you. If, on the other hand, you look more like a surfer arcing big, smooth turns and floating a 30-foot roostertail behind you, then you probably know what you're doing. Big, soulful powder turns like that deserve a big, soulful powder gun like the Rome Notch Swallowtail.

The Notch has an old-school look. That doesn't mean it uses old-school technology, though. The profile is Rome's Powder-S hybrid camber. That's rocker from the nose to just after the front binding for unheard-of float. That rocker combined with the short swallowtail means you can ride the Notch without leaning back in the deepest, lightest powder. That translates to more control and less fatigue so you don't have to leave after riding pow for just a few hours. The rest of the board is traditional camber for tons of edge control on hardpack and gobs of pop in the deep snow. The core is Rome's Air Pop Core Matrix—a blend of poplar and other super-low density woods for a light, poppy feel. Rome says it's the most responsive feel in the line. Adding to the poppy feel are Rome's powder-specific Single + Double Barrel Carbon Hot Rods and Kevlar V PressurePop technology, which allow Rome to put the pop where you need it most. Rome finished the Notch with its super-fast sinterspeed base so you don't have to worry too much when you blast out of the deep stuff and wind up on a long, flat section.
