The down also makes it easy to pack this jacket; stuff it into its included stuff sack and stash it into a tiny corner of your backpack when you just want to wear the Ascent for your descent. Plus, it has a hydrophobic treatment to prevent it from getting soggy and losing its insulating properties in wet weather.

The Ascent's hood has a wired peak to keep the elements out while offering an uninhibited field of vision, is helmet compatible, and has the same lightweight insulation as the rest of the jacket to keep your head nice and toasty. The nylon liner boosts durability, and the tricot-lined collar is soft against your neck and chin. Its hook-and-loop cuffs and drawcord hem tighten this jacket down so you don't have wind blowing up your sleeves and body.
