Why We Like The IM 70QT Elite Cooler

Whether we're driving across the country, car camping with friends, or storing fresh catch in the middle of the ocean, the Pelican 70QT Elite Cooler exceeds all expectations. This ultra-tough cooler features a freezer-grade seal and two inches of PU foam insulation to keep bevies cold for entire trips. The 70QT holds ice for up to eight days, and has enough space for 65 cans with a 2:1 ice ratio. The non-skid rubber feet hold it in place in the backs of trucks and boats, and the latches hold tight when it gets tossed around. Molded cup holders stash beverages and the drain plug makes it a breeze to clean out at the end of a trip.

Simple and functional

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Usage: This thing has great insulation. It has easily kept block ice through several four day spring camping trips in the 40s/70s for a family of 4. Will be taking it on a week long trip in warmer temperatures soon. Size/Weight: No issues fitting it in any NPS bear lockers so far even though it?s enormous but for sure check the dimensions of the bear lockers where you?re going. It is hard to peer into it while inside the locker but definitely possible if you need to grab something quickly. It?s extremely heavy when loaded and definitely requires 2 people to move. Child Safety! This thing is huge and both my children (<5yo) climbed inside as soon as it was delivered. I store it away from children and with the drain plug out since the nature of coolers (especially big ones) make them a suffocation hazard. Features: Drain plug and latches work great - especially the latches. They?re easy to use and seem to be bombproof. I don?t fish but I guess if I ever need to measure something while I?m camping I can lay it on the cooler. It also looks cool or whatever but I can?t admire it because it?s always in a bear locker ????? Would be cooler if the cup holders were a larger size like most reusable water bottles but they look perfect for beer.
