You need some real deal cycling gear if you have any hope of remaining motivated to ride during the coldest winter months. Pearl Izumi made the ultra-toasty AmFib Men's Cycling Bib Tights that are designed to fit, wick, and breathe well keeping you warm and comfortable and never regretting your clothing choice. The Amfib bib tights have all the warmth you need to turn frigid training rides into enjoyable outdoor outings.
The AmFib bibs are the warmest tights on offer from Pearl and is made from a blend of Pearl's Elite AmFib softshell and Elite Thermal Fleece fabrics. Thermal Fleece, which makes up the back panel construction, handles thermo-regulation and moisture-wicking, while the Amfib softshell is incorporated in key areas to keep out precipitation and wind. The two fabrics coordinate effectively they will be your go-to tights in the coldest conditions.
Sub-freezing riding conditions are hard enough that we don't want any additional unnecessary discomforts, so thankfully Pearl Izumi integrates its Elite Escape 1:1 chamois into the AmFib. The chamois uses variable density padding and is pre-shaped to enhance blood flow. Its floating top-sheet reduces friction and conforms to your shape as it pulls moisture away from your skin.
While a comfortable chamois is a necessity for any long rides, nothing guarantees comfort like a precise fit. To ensure this, Pearl designed the cut to allow full range of motion while cycling. The lower leg follows a contoured shape that terminates with an ankle zipper for easy on and off with thick, winter socks. Adding to the cold weather rising bliss is the breathable, but warming, Transfer fabric on the upper and raw cut bib straps.

Super warm and comfortable

Bought these prior on going on my first longer ride (about 90 miles) in temperatures around 45-50 degrees and I was super warm and comfortable. These felt like they will handle temps in the 30's no problem. My only regret is having bought just one. Should have grabbed a couple more while they were on sale!

Fantastic cold weather bibs!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Last year I bought the version of this bib that doesn't have a chamois in it and I was a big fan of it. Not having a chamois of its own let me layer either regular bibs/shorts or a thermal pair for even colder temp rides. I liked riding like that - but at times I wished I also had this pair- the one with the chamois- so I didn't have to layer. So when I saw Backcountry having a sale on these bibs I immediately jumped on adding two pair to my collection. I rode with them today and I am in love. The AmFIB material is great for cold damp windy days to keep that out- and the thermal fleece works great to keep your body heat in. The ELITE Escape chamois is just as expected -- same favorite chamois I wear in my regular bibs. Couple of additional notes: 1) these have zippered ankles which are great and make it easier to get them on and off; 2) there's also a hidden pocket on the right upper leg area- which is perfect for me to keep my park pass, cash, ID, etc if I don't want to take my entire wallet; and 3) because of the AmFIB material these don't "stretch" quite as much as regular bibs- I personally didn't have to size-up but they definitely do fit more snugly than my regular bibs so I could see some people having to size-up.

Wear these in ozark winters. Have cycled in them at or around the 20 degree farenheit mark with 10 mph winds. These along with a base layer as well as a santini jacket have done the trick. Just a hair long for me , alas I'm not tall though , but still fit very well with bigger quads for my size.
