Out on the river on a hot day and we're ditching the stuffy waders and cumbersome vests in favor of the Patagonia Stealth Atom Sling. It carries our tackle boxes when we don't want that plastic digging into our thighs, and even has room for an extra reel and a packable rain shell. The drop-down panel opens flat for easy access to fly keepers, a welded pocket keeps cellphones or cameras dry, and if we get thirsty we have easy access to your water bottle. It's a simple thing to slide this sling around to your chest for ease of use on the river, and with extra rigging on the outside for tools and spool, everything we need is never far from hand.
