I’ve had both the bib and pants version of the PowSlayer. Both had significant damage to the bottom of the legs from ski boot straps or from the inside ski edges but that’s after 200+ days of skiing. Initially I was disappointed in the 40d Goretex Pro but short of 70D Arcteryx Pro series; there really isn’t anything more durable that’s well suited for ski touring. My one big complaint is that none of the pockets have an elastic band and integrated teather for an avalanche beacon.

So I got a pair of these in 2020 prior to the 2020/2021 season. Wore them for about 35 days and they were comfortable and performed well. Fast forward to the 21/22 season and the side zipper broke around day 3...so lets say they lasted for 38 days of skiing. Brought them to the Patagonia shop at Palisades and the manager destroyed the zipper trying to "fix" them. After he completely destroyed the pants he then informed me I had to go online and ship them to the repair center myself. Lame. I sent them in and am now waiting for them to come back in approximately 12 weeks. I am guessing the ski season will be over for me in April so I might use them in 22/23? Prior to these pants I had 2 pairs of the powderbowl Gore-Tex pants that failed as well. So in summary I have to say that I am underwhelmed by Patagonia Ski Pants and that I will be looking elsewhere in the future. I have some old ArcTeryx pants that are about 15 years old with probably 300 days of skiing and they are still kicking butt so I know pants can be better than what I purchased. The pants have a large tooth plastic zipper that failed on mine, I don't know what is driving the use of such a zipper but it is junk....my guess it it costs less, it certainly looks cheap. Buyer Beware
