Why We Like The Nano Puff Jacket
Built for kids that aren't fazed or bothered by inclement weather, the Patagonia Nano Puff Jacket for Boys provides equal parts timeless style and adaptive protection in the face of changing weather. We appreciate that the Nano Puff Jacket features a similar construction as the adult version, but just in a slightly smaller version for growing boys.
To start, the exterior mini-ripstop fabric fends off winds from the incoming storm, while the DWR treatment provides protection from light precipitation. Additionally, the PrimaLoft Eco insulation doesn't just keep Junior warm even when wet—it's also 55% recycled, offering an eco-conscious edge to an otherwise pragmatic and straightforward piece. The full-length zipper is backed by an internal wind flap for added defense, while the zippered hand pockets offer warm respite for chilly paws.

Runs very small
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
- Size Bought:
- XL
- Height:
- 5' 2"
- Weight:
- 94
It appears to be a great jacket, but it runs very small compared to North Face. I purchased an XL for my 13 year old son (5'2") and the sleeves were really short. I bought a comparable North Face jacket in XL and there is still room to grow. It appears to be a quality product, but it definitely isn't "standard sizing".

Not a good choice for kids
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I thought I loved this jacket for my 7 yo son until several things happened in the course of one week. First was the stitch in the arm that got pulled by a zipper. The stitch got pulled, which pulled the fabric together and could not be pulled back. The stitch had to be cut. Then, after playing outside, I noticed the same thing happened to the back of the jacket... several stitches got pulled and yanked all the fabric together. This time several stitches had to be cut to get the fabric to lay flat again. Then I also noticed that a rip had started from a branch. Bottom line is that if you buy this jacket, it's super nice but don't let your kid play in in.
