Nano-Air Insulated Pant

Nano-Air has been such a success for both Patagonia and alpinists that Patagonia finally produced the Men's Nano-Air Insulated Pant for serious alpine endeavors that require extra warmth and air-permeable performance. Unlike standard breathable garments that only breathe until after you start sweating, the Nano-Air's air permeable insulation allows the pant to breathe the moment you put it on. The exterior fabric is just as breathable, and it's soft enough to wear around cold campsites, yurts, and basecamps. Patagonia treated it with DWR to shed light moisture from falling snow and moisture-riddled tents.

These pants are wonderful. They're like wearing a cloud. I've used them as lounge pants, for hiking in chilly temps, and as an insulating layer under snow pants, rain pants, and waders. They're incredibly light weight and comfortable. I love them so much I bought a second pair.

Performance and Comfort

I bought these pants for winter hiking but I am now using them for all outdoor winter activities, cross country skiing, snow biking, winter camping, even running if it?s windy and cold, not to mention shoveling snow, walking the dog when it?s miserabile outside etc. I find them way more comfortable and breathable than any sport specific pants that I own and the temperature range for comfort is much wider. Could not be happier with them. I am 6?0? 180lbs. size M works well.

Too few sizes...

Patagonia must use a sizing model who is 5'10" and 130 lbs for these nano air pants size small. They are way too tight in the waist. Patagonia is loosing out on sales by not offering more sizing options such as medium/short. I am 5'5" and 142lbs for comparison. If you're not a string bean , they won't fit you..
