Why We Like The Yukon Cap
Panning for gold is no picnic, but the fleece-lined Outdoor Research Yukon Hat keeps our head warm while we hunt for our own personal treasure playing in the mountains. Plus, we love that earflaps snap to the hat when not needed and drop down to prevent earsicles.

Perfect Hat for Me...almost
The folding brim allows you to wear it anywhere. If you want to take it off you just fold the brim and stuff the hat either into a pocket or down the sleeeve of your jacket. I really wish they would make a herringbone tweed one. I think it might look great. A subdued heringbone style would make it easier to wear in less rustic settings.

I Love the Yukon Cap!
I really love this hat. It's just the right amount of warm when it's chilly. It has a visor for the bright sun. And it's unique and cute. Also it seems to go with everything. I had one just like this and lost it, so I am especially glad to have it "back" again!

Nice hat, weak ear flaps
This is quite a lovely hat, seemingly well made and attractive. The top of the cap is warm enough, but the ear flaps will not keep your ears warm. They hang down loosely so that any little bit of breeze will blow right in. If you're the sort of person who does not get very cold, then perhaps it will be fine for you. Personally, my ears are very sensitive to the cold, so this was no good. I tied a bit of elastic around the back, connecting the two ear flaps together so they would stay down tightly around my head, which works decently. Overall, I like the hat very much. It just needed a bit of engineering on my part.

Finally!
Over ten years ago I bought a winter hat with a visor at an army surplus store and when it got too small for me I was devastated. I was thrilled to see this and orders a large right away! Love the colour and the lining is very warm. It was perfect for late fall kayaking on a sunny day! The fact that the brim folds is useful to take up less space when packing. I wish the visor came out a bit more, and the ear flaps were a bit larger and longer BUT I have a big face and head so that's just me!

love these hats ...however new materials are questionable
ive had one of these awesome hats for years last winter my most liked hat started to fall apart. after finally ordering on that i don't like the color of it is just printed fleece. my old hat is a woven wool mix, wayyyy better hat... not sure why they changed the materials to something so flammable you may not want it on your head. though its still comfy and seems like it will be just as warm. and sadly no one else makes an ear flap Cadet Cap like these... OR please bring back the old designs/Materials these plaids are UGLY!!!! but i love this hat!!

Love this hat
But the new styles and plaids are hideous. The old green ones were the most stylish

Looked nice but small
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) The cap looked exactly like I wanted, but was too small despite selecting it based on size charts. In trying it on I thought if you intend on turning the flap up and down, those buttons might get annoying to undo and redo.

Nice hat, but the Large fits small
I bought this because I love the style as a forester in the upper midwest. I'm a pretty small framed dude (5'11" 150 lbs) and have never bought anything bigger than a size Large, but the Large size of this hat was too small for me. I measured my hat size and am around 22 7/8" diam or size 7 1/2 which is normally a Large. But again, the L was a bit too tight for comfort. I'm returning my L and if I ever see an XL around I'll probably get that cuz it is a neat hat. Just weird because I've never bought an XL anything before.

The perfect winter cap
My new favorite late autum / winter / spring cap. Good quality, perfect fit and looks really good too. I love how it feels like a soft and warm kitten just laid down on top of my head. Foldable brim and light weight make it easy to bring in my backpack. Extendable ear flaps makes it really versatile. I am a warm and sweaty person, still it feels breathable and stays warm and dry all day. I got it for approx 20€ from Outnorth in Norway, which is a steal! Its great for both outdoor and casual use. Thanks O.R. for this well thought out product!
