Mesh lets sun go through

Not sure what was OR thinking when putting mesh on top of a sun hat. Totally use less.

Misleading description

Horrible description of product. If you want a sunburn on the top of your head, then this is the hat for you!

Perfect for bikepacking

This was a great hat for bikepacking. Lightweight, comfortable and didn't have to worry about looking bad after being stuffed in a bag all day.

My go-to hat for hot summer days' runs

I'm a bald guy who is also fair-skinned, who loves to run (but not wake up early enough to beat the sun). This is my go to hat for long runs when I know I'm going to be in the sun. I have no problem with the fit. My face, head, and neck are not sunburned after a long run (~90 minutes). The con on this might be that the brim soaks up the sweat, so on the back-half of runs, the rigidity is lost and it can be a bit floppy. On the plus side, the brim soaking up the sweat keeps the sweat out of my eyes, which is a big plus to me. This product to me falls into the "no bad weather, only wrong clothes" type gear - I am more enabled to go outside and perform high exertion activities with this product. Liked it so much, I bought two just in case it ever went away.

Ideal Sun Protection

With a high UPF rating, this hat succeeds in keeping face and neck sunburn away. Ventilation is great and it helps keep me from overheating when the sun beats down and the humidity is high. I use it for kayaking and SUP. Water beads up and usually rolls right off. It dries quickly like most synthetic hats. Make sure to size yours right, as gusts of wind have a tendency to tip it off your head if it is too loose. I have owned many Outdoor Research hats over the years, and the are very durable.

I love sun hats but have been looking for something light and well ventilated so I can wear it trail running and I think I have found just that in this hat. I wear it trail running on hot days with exposed trails. It stays put and it so light and comfortable I never notice it. If a gust of wind picks up or you are heading head in into a breeze the bill might flop a little bit that doesn?t bother me. I?ve also taken it out backpacking and after several days of living in it I like it even more. It fits pretty shallow and runs small for my preference so I had to return it and size up to the larger size even though I have a relatively small head (7 1/4). I have only had it for about a month so I can?t speak to how longevity of it but it seems durable and there are no signs of wear after heavy use and in and out of packs, hanging on trees, etc.

Perfect Beach Hat

I have gone through several hats and none have performed as well as this one. Super comfy to wear, well ventilated, light, and fits securely in high wind. Oh, and it looks great. ;)

The last sun hat you will need

I have had several sun hats but this one goes beyond. Not only is the venting at the perfect place, but it has held up during several washings.
