If your ideal mountain bike is a quick-handling 29er hardtail, the Orbea Alma Hydro 60 Complete Bike fits the bill. And with a Shimano drivetrain and RockShox fork, you'll have everything that you need to make waves in your local race series, or just to turn out quick laps on your favorite trails.
Orbea borrowed heavily from its carbon fiber Alma when it came time to design the Alma Hydro. The Alma Hydro shares the same tight handling geometry that makes the carbon version so popular, as well as Orbea's signature lines. However, where the difference truly lies is in the Alma Hydro's triple-butted, 7005 aluminum tubing. If you're wondering what this actually means, basically, each of the Alma's tubes are thicker at the ends than in the middle. This not only saves weight, but it also works in conjunction with Orbea's hallmark tube shapes to provide plenty of compliance. And that means that you'll be comfortable on long rides, whether you're racing or just spending a day on the trail.
Suspension duties are handled by RockShox's TK30 fork, which provides 100mm of air-sprung travel in order to smooth out the trail. Additionally, the TK30 has a lockout lever atop the fork. So, you're able to switch from a smooth ride to all-out efficiency while you're climbing. Orbea's house brand wheels keep you rolling, and are both stiff and light. This way, you won't waste unnecessary energy pedaling around on unnecessarily heavy wheels. And, even better, Orbea cased its wheels with Geax AKA tires, which are widely popular for their fast rolling, gripp'y tread pattern.
The drivetrain is a blend of Shimano, featuring Deore shifters and derailleurs. And with the Shimano triple chainring crankset and an 11-36t cassette, you not only get quick, crisp shifts, but you also have enough gear range to make short work of the steepest climbs and fastest descents. Shimano's BR-M395 brakes handle stopping duties, allowing you to slow things down when you push it a bit too far. Rounding out the cockpit is an assortment of Orbea items for the handlebar, stem, and seatpost. And the Selle Italia Q-BIK MTB saddle provides you with a comfortable perch to sit on mile after mile.
The Orbea Alma Hydro 60 Complete Bike is available in the color White/blue and in the sizes Small, Medium, and Large.
