City runners have different needs than those in the suburbs or the country. With no soft trails or fields to escape to, you're going to need some cushioning that really does its job, and that's exactly what you're getting with the On Running Cloudswift Running Shoe. It was designed specifically to meet the demands of urban runners, and accomplishes that task thanks to its Helion midsole. Helion, which On describes as a "superfoam", delivers the shock attenuation and underfoot cushioning you need for long miles on asphalt roads and concrete sidewalks. It's light and flexible to accommodate the quick movements that are required of you to round street corners and dodge slowpoke pedestrians, and offers lots of durability to withstand hard miles on harder surfaces. The sock-like upper is made with a stretchy yet supportive engineered mesh that breathes well in hot weather, while a durable rubber outsole provides traction for quick cuts, turns, and adjustments, even when the streets are soaking wet.

I love ON, but this shoe isn't for arch
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- 8.5
I have high arches and generally struggle with shoes not fitting because of it. I love the ON Cloud X shoe and I don't have to size up in that shoe because of my arches. However, this shoe (the Cloudswift) has a lacing system that has a kind of set sizing around the top of the foot that makes it unbearably tight around the top of my foot. If you have high arches I would suggest sizing up or getting a different style of shoe from ON that doesn't have this set plastic "rib" for the lacing system.

Good Road Running Shoes
I have been a Saucony/Asics trainer user for 10+ years and decided to try some different shoes. I purchased them in store and on the advice of the really helpful assistant. These are comfortable and supportive, I particularly like the fact that the tongue is attached and forms part of the main body of the shoe. Things which folk should be aware of - you need to size up. I am a UK size 5 and had to buy a size 6. These shoes are best suited for road running - if you try to run anywhere with mud or on a trail, you will end up with a platform trainer as the sole seems to retain all manner of rocks and mud! That said, I have purchased the trail running version of this shoe - and they are also great!

Comfortable and supportive.
I usually wear Asics trainers but tried these for a change and they are so comfortable and supportive. I wear size 4 shoes, but after reading other reviews, ordered size 5 and they fit perfectly. I haven't worn them for a run yet, but they were great for a high impact HIIT workout. Pretty shade of blue too.

Really small sizing
The On website recommends going up half a size. I did this and they were still too tight. Would love to try the shoes but now sold out in most sizes

Springy but come up small
I bought these trainers for running having previously had an on cloud pair I loved. These come up small and because they are a sock they are not adjustable. I would advise you try them on before buying

Love them
Very light and amazing to run in. They give lots of support to the arch of the foot. I did get them muddy and this was hard to clean out if all the groves.

Comfy but squeaky
These are so comfy, I use them for everyday rather than running! I did have to go up a size. My only criticism is that they squeak on wooden floors. Not good when you work on a wooden floor all day.
