A stable kayak built for two.

The way to get your spouse, buddy, or kid into kayaking isn’t to slap them into a tippy tandem. The Old Town Twin Otter Kayak has a large cockpit that’s easy to get into and a wide design that feels stable on the water. Adjustable foot braces give you and your friend something to push against as you work out the finer details of paddling in tandem, and high seat backs help on all-day tours. A paddle keeper on the side secures your paddle while you board this tandem from a dock or from knee-high water in the lake. When your buddy bails on you at the last minute, simply slide the back seat in this kayak up a bit and paddle solo.

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

My dad bought this thing before I was even born and it is still in near perfect condition to this day. Even after nearly 1000 miles in boney rapid rivers and being crushed in half by the car me and two of my friends can manage to fit in this thing and float in shallow water down rapids. To say my dad has gotten his moneys worth out of this thing is truly an understatement. After 22 years of owning this exact model the only signs of wear are the decayed bungee cords for securing luggage and the severely faded red color. This kayak was the catalyst that sparked my interest for the outdoors.
