Quality Jacket But Pay Attention

Nice jacket but pay attention to the specs not listed in the description - or, at least, I didn’t see them listed at the time I wrote this review. This is a goretex 2 layer jacket with a mesh lining. This isn’t the somewhat beefier, more rugged 3 layer jacket. Norrona lists the face fabric as 70D nylon, with 150D reinforcements. So, the face fabric is quite rugged - though not quite as tough as the face fabric they use on the high-end of their Lofoten jackets. And the fact that it’s 2 layer goretex means that the inside face of the goretex lacks a protective backing. 3 layer goretex is generally considered more breathable and light weight since the inner fabric backing the goretex is lighter than the hanging mesh fabric used in 2 layer jackets. 2 layer jackets do tend to be warmer since the mesh and other liner fabrics trap more heat. 2 layer goretex jackets also tend to be less expensive. The large fits about like an Arcteryx large in the Rush or Sabre line. I need an XL to accommodate a thick mid layer.
