If you're familiar with Nike's LunarGlide, know that the Shield is just Nike's waterproof version it.  As a core member of Nike's running-specific line, it still features the same springy midsole and airy uppers as its three-season sibling, with the addition of DWR-treated mesh and a more pronounced lug pattern on the outsole to provide better grip on wet, cold days. Nike also adds a bootie-like liner to the shoe to improve fit, allowing the shoe to stretch and mold around the rolling topography of your metatarsals as you land and toe off, while still feeling secure. Underneath, the springy, energetic midsole provides light support to overpronators, adapting it to speed days or longer endurance runs alike.
