The New Balance 890v7 Running Shoe was designed for your speediest runs, races, and workouts. This road shoe boasts an ultralight 5.6-ounce construction for a nearly weightless feel as you pick up the pace, and features a responsive REVlite midsole that keeps your stride energized and poppy with each step. If you're used to New Balance's Fresh Foam cushioning you might find REVlite a little on the firm side, but that firmness works more to your advantage when you're operating at higher speeds, and still provides smooth and easy transitions with every step. The outsole has been stripped down to save weight, features Ground Contact foam with rubber reinforcements  instead of a full rubber construction. The result is a significantly reduced weight and a little more flex than you'd find in a standard shoe, without sacrificing too much in the way of durability.
