Good when it works
I’ve used this pad about 10 nights so far. I fall asleep well and feel pretty comfortable on it but by every single morning it’s an accordion at the bottom of my tent and I’m sleeping on the ground. I’ve put a sheet under it, over it, both at the same time and it still slips down and folds up throughout the night. I also don’t think it’s comfortable against bare skin. Rolling over on it with bare skin wakes me up at night because it makes a suction cup noise as I move. With skin covered and maybe staking down the pad(?!) I would really like this. I appreciate the effort but it needs improvement.

Review for NEMO switchback sleeping pad
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- 6 ft
I typically don't care enough to leave a review for a product, but this was my first sleeping pad, I am very satisfied, lightweight and has a very solid and reliable feeling to it. Definitely doesn't feel cheap, i can't speak on the long time durability as i only have 2 night on it. It is about as comfortable as you would expect to be while camping/backpacking.... but for the price I can say i made the right choice and it was worth it in my case.

It is affordable and best in the market.
Only a step away to be the best in the industry… Short and narrow for tall people. I have been using sleeping pads for more than two decades in the Himalaya and Alaskan mountain ranges year around. I used all the brands, they were good but not the best feeling high up in the mountains. Switchback gave me the comfort and the feeling a wilderness educator or a parent will expect in the back country and in the high altitude. Soft, light and sturdy enough but not too hard. Few things can make it one of the best in the industry. Make it available WIDE, LONG and Extra long for tall people. I know NEMO team you can do it.

So comfortable
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I have tried many sleeping pads and this is hands down the most comfortable non inflated pad that I have slept on. After a week of use, this is a keeper.

I haven't put it to use yet; however, I've tested it at home. Surprisingly comfortable and with my sleeping bag on top it will provide even more cushion. Pressure points were not an issue. Seems to distribute your weight evenly. My only concern is that it will slide in my car. We shall find out soon enough. But for comfort, definitely four stars, compacatbility 5 stars, and durability seems to be a 4. I definetly recommend!

Most Comfortable Camping Mattress I've owned
I've spent most of my life camping on self-inflating air mattresses so I was excited to get the Switchback foam mattress. I loved my first one so I just got another one for my wife. They are super lightweight and much easier to setup/packup since you don't have to inflate/deflate. The comfort factor is most important though - the foam is firm but forgiving so sleeping on dirt or even a wood platform is perfectly comfortable. This is my forever go to camping pad.

Remarkably comfortable
I’m 6’3” and 180lb. Best sleep ever in a tent. Elbows do hang off but I don’t want to pack anything wider. No stress or discomfort with deflating overnight from a tiny hole. The folded shape makes it easy to pack and it makes a nice seat. Compared to a traditional flat foam roll this is a lot softer.

The best...except it's too narrow
The Nemo Switchback is the BEST. It is far more comfy than the Exped Flexmat or the Thermarest Z-Lite. It even packs/folds down better. The problem is the width. I've been using the Flexmat, which is pales in comparison to the Switchback, because it is WIDE enough to accommodate my 25" inflatable sleeping pad. Nemo - check out the reviews...we want a wide option! Pretty please?!

Warmer than expected. Needs a wide option
bought this pad to use so my friend i was taking camping could use my nice 4.5 R value blow up pad on a previous cool weather camping trip. Temps got down to the mid 40's and this pad kept me warmer than expected with a 2 R value. My butt was a little chilly at first but after laying on the pad for a bit it warmed up and i stayed warm all night. was decently comfortable for a thin foam pad and i will definitely use this pad again as my summer pad as my other pad is far to warm for summer. My only real complaint is that i wish this pad came in a wide size. when laying down on my back there is literally no room for my arms on the pad unless i sleep on my side which is not comfortable with this style of pad. this is a back sleeper pad for sure. i have about two fingers of width on either side of my body remaining on the pad while laying down. my arms and elbows were touching the ground most of the night if i didn't have them tucked up on top of my torso. But enough complaining. Great pad, much warmer than i thought it would be, and ill definitely use it again. just wish it came in a wider 25inch or wider size

I note a carry bag is not available to protect the pad - what are people using to keep it safe? Any product people can recommend? I'd prefer not to carry it around int he box forever.
