Why We Like The NEMO Dragonfly OSMO Bikepack Tent
The original Nemo Dragonfly impressed backpackers so much that Nemo made a version for bikepackers. Now they've updated this lightweight and livable bikepacking tent with the Dragonfly OSMO Bikepack Tent.
Like the backpacking tent, the OSMO Bikepack Tent has an assymetrical design that shaves weight yet gives us generous living space, plus large trapezoidal vestibules with a removable storage tub for ample gear storage and pre-bent poles with a crossbar for extra volume and head room. The major differences reflect the greater packability of the Bikepack Tent with its shortened pole segments that pack down smaller into the special, bike-compatible dry bag that's designed to mount easily to our bike's handlebars, rack, or frame. New for 2023, the tent now comes in Nemo's proprietary OSMO ripstop fabric, which is made from recycled yarns that are PFC- and PFAS-free to repel water and retard flames without the use of harmful chemicals that stay in the environment forever. On top of these environmental benefits, OSMO has 4x longer water repellency and 3x less stretch when wet—a nice upgrade for our bikepacking (or kayak camping) escapes.

Lightweight, great features
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Brought for bike packing explicitly and the tent is not only light but well spaced with attention to details which make it a 5/5. The external gear stash for shoes, phone and light holders plus the hooks for helmets make it so useable. Also it packs well to suit handlebar mounting with little effort packing or unpacking.

Amazing Tent For Arizona Adventures
I'm a huge fan of Nemo and have been using their gear for years now. This has replaced the Hornet 2p in my backpacking setup for 2 reasons: it is freestanding - which is massively important when it comes to pitching a tent in the hardscape of the desert. And 2, it has more interior room and I often share this tent with my partner. Yes, it is a bit heavier than the Hornet as well as many tents in the same category, but I think that trade-off is absolutely worth it.

Nemo has done a great job combining light weight, durable and accessorized. I chose the tent for it being a sub 3 lb 2p tent. I use it solo bike touring/packing and like the extra space, that said I am 6 ft 200lbs and would call this tent 1.5 p, two persons will fit without much extra space. The light weight design can be a little scary in wind and bad weather but with the fly stacked out in just four spots it pulls down on the tent poles and creates a tight secure system. I am not typically a fan of accessories as they are usually not that useful and provide an additional fail point, but this tent has several extras I am really pleased with the best being the "Landing Zone" I thought it was a gimmick but found it to be worth the extra weight. There is a lot more to this tent go check it out!

not only for bikepacking -GREAT TENT
- Height:
- 5' 10"
- Weight:

This tent has come with me on thru hikes and many bikepacking adventures. It is small (still roomy enough for two people and a small dog on the Colorado Trail), lightweight and packable and the new OSMO fabric performs really well! Even in super wet and humid environments, it stretches far less than traditional tent fabrics when wet. I also really like that NEMO has given this tent a muted color scheme. It helps you blend in and stay more discreet on those unplanned stops. The shorter pole segments also fit really nicely in a backpacking backpack too so everything stays protected and together. An absolute no brainer of a tent!

Thoughtful Bike Design
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
NEMO reimagined their super rad backpacking tents for bike packing and I am here for it. Love the thoughtful updates - size and shape of the stuff stack, shorter tent poles, attachment points for tent to bike, daisy chain for gear, and storage bin under vestibule. The new OSMO fabric is strong, water resistant, and has less stretch than other tents I have used. Don't sleep on this one.

Killer Bikepacking Tent
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
The color is fantastic, we appreciate NEMO knowing bikepackers don't always want to be seen... This is similar to the original Dragonfly, but has smaller pole segments and sack so it can easily be attached to the handlebars of your bike. The OSMO fabric is game changer. This tent is super lightweight and so easy to put together.
